“I don’t need a Wyld Hunt to have a legend.”

As nearly all sylvari are, Mailp was born from the Pale Tree, but unlike his brothers and sisters, he quickly grew unhappy in the lush forests of the Maguuma Jungle. Tales of the far north, where ice and snow cover the ground, and only the toughest and most tenacious of sprouts can survive the cold, drew Mailp to leave the security of the jungle and travel through human lands until he arrived to the Shiverpeaks, land of the Norns.

There, he found awe-inspiring landscapes, rugged people, and unforgiving cold. There, he found trees and brushes strong enough to survive the frigid winds and hard ground. There, he found challenges and hardships. There, he found warm hearths and open camaraderie. There, he found a home.

Mailp took to the Norn’s way of life with surprising ease, and join them in their traditions and outlook. In order to mesh more easily with his chosen people, Mailp took to wearing a helmet most of his time; and took a new name, following Norn ways, but still honoring his mother : Hylnur Föltrésson.

Nowadays, you will find Hylnur journeying all over the Shiverpeaks, traveling from moutain to moutain, village to village, and discovery to discovery.
