Selariël

Selariël is a human elementalist member of the Krytan aristocracy. She is also a member of the Durmand Priory, the Pact and Ordo Patroni.

Biography

Selariël de la Marchecroix is born in Divinity’s Reach, daughter to the second heir of the Marchecroix noble house. Despite the house losing its territory to the Tamini and Selariël being only sixth in the line of succession, she however lived comfortably during her childhood.

Her talents for elemental magic were discovered early, and she received a mage’s training at the same time as a noble’s one. While adept in political maneuvering, she favored her studies, and is as a result mostly unknown in the political circles.

She tumbled on the political scene by revealing the wrongdoings of Minister Zamon, and then besting him during a trial by combat. This was promptly followed by the destruction of a White Mantle cell within the city.

After those events, Selariël joined the Durmand Priory, thriving within their halls and exploring the intricacies of elemental magic. She stayed as a peaceful scholar until the Priory joined the Pact a few years later.

She met Jadamare during the battle of Fort Trinity, and created a tentative friendship with her; and was offered to join Ordo Patroni shortly after the victory against Zhaitan.

Since the founding of the guild, Selariël mostly stayed first in Divinity’s Reach, then in the guild headquarters, handling administrative duties. She only participate in the field when her knowledge or skills in elemental magic are necessary for the mission’s success.

Despite the many dangers that threatened Tyria, house Marchecroix hasn’t really suffered, and Selariël is fairly confident that she will never have to become head of the house.
